Wolverhampton-Based Jones Skips Adds More DAF Trucks To Fleet, Including A CF 340 FAN

Jones Skips, a waste management service provider based in Wolverhampton, recently added more DAF trucks to its 40-vehicle fleet, including a new DAF CF 340 FAN model. The 26-tonne rear-steer CF features a day cab, an 11-litre Euro 6 PACCAR MX-11 engine, and a 12-speed Traxon automated transmission. It also comes with several safety technologies, including adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning, lane departure warning, and an advanced emergency braking system. Jones Skips also adds Spillard 360-degree cameras to its trucks “for increased safety in operation of the vehicles, with live feedback to base,” DAF says.

    Right Truck For The Job

Jones Skips decided to bring in more DAF trucks largely to meet the requirements of Clean Air Zones that will be established in Birmingham and other areas in the near future. However, the company’s trucks still need to be able to handle 2-yard skips and 40-yard roll-on-roll-off containers while removing waste and recycling non-hazardous materials. Fortunately for Jones Skips, DAF designed the versatile CF lineup to manage a wide a range of applications, making this new truck and its Dennis Eagle Refuse Body well-suited for the task.

    Longstanding Relationship

Another reason Jones Skips keeps coming back to DAF is its strong relationship with local dealer Willenhall-based Greenhous Commercials and its truck sales manager, Rob Binnion, who has worked with Jones Skips since 2005. “Our relationship through Rob with Greenhous has been excellent. They turn things around quickly and with little fuss. Our three mechanics understand DAFs and, whilst we maintain them ourselves, access to parts is a swift operation,” says Andy Yeomans, commercial and business development director at Jones Skips. “We have a pride in the quality of our fleet and it helps to promote our business to a different level. For us reputation, efficiency and customer service are key elements of our success.”

You will find a huge selection of new and used DAF trucks for sale every day on TruckLocator, including a large number of CF models.
